Why it matters.
Maybe more than any other industry, real estate can have a crucial role in issues related to housing and vibrant community life. Realtors are advocates, volunteers, ethicists; working for property rights, fair housing, and economic development.
What we are up to…
Breaking Bread Kitchen
Breaking Bread is a community meal at the American Legion Hall in Sheffield, sponsored by community groups on a rotating basis. Realtors across agencies come together to sponsor a dinner every 6 weeks, and Fairground Real Estate coordinates volunteers, plans the menu, and invites everyone to get involved!
REACT in the Berkshires
Berkshire REALTORS® work together with the community to identify, support and sustain charitable organizations that improve the quality of life in Berkshire County. Our group is a committee of the Berkshire County Board of REALTORS, a 501-c6 not-for-profit trade association. While we give all funds raised
to 501-c3 charities, donations made directly are not tax deductible.
Town Monitors are the key players that connect the Berkshire Board of REALTORS to the communities we serve. A Town Monitor can raise any issue related to real estate and private property rights affecting the community. The board will take this information, research it, learn about potential impact, strategist our reaction, share information and mobilize our members. Fairground Real Estate has four sales associates currently serving as town monitors in Berkshire County.
